Yesterday I went for a regular medical checkup to a diagnostic centre. After waiting for about an hour, I was asked to proceed for the tests. I obviously made a face and said a few words to the receptionist in a complaining tone. Inside the clinic, I met this girl, who politely asked me to change. As she prepared me for the tests, she got talking and asked me casually why I was getting these tests done. Then she asked me to confirm my age, knowing which she got a little surprised looking at my well maintained body and health reports which were pretty good. She was on a plump side with a pleasant face. She said "I was once as thin as you. May be even thinner. But one accident and I had to be hospitalized for a long time. Lots of medication and complications made me put on weight." I asked, "what kind of accident?" "A critical road accident. I was sitting at the back seat when the car was hit head on, driver's seat got pulled off and fell on my legs almost crushing both of them. Doctor said he would have to cut my legs. But see I am standing on my legs and doing your diagnose. They still shake sometimes. I feel low and sick even now, but at least I am standing and walking. Sorry you had to wait, I had actually gone to see the doctor my self." She said. It was late in the evening, 9:00 pm. I was awestruck! Need I say more that even her own low condition didn't deter her from smiling & serving people and coming out of her own critical condition made her value that even more. And here I was complaining about waiting even while sitting in a comfortable atmosphere.
